Bob Gaglardi

Founder & Chairman Emeritus

Northland Properties

Bob is a Canadian entrepreneur and philanthropist from Kamloops, BC., with a long-standing family legacy grounded in community service. He founded Northland Properties in 1963 shortly after receiving his engineering degree from LeTourneau University.

With a vision of building hotels and restaurants where people could come together to experience excellent customer service, he opened the first Sandman in Smithers, B.C., in 1967. With his inspirational leadership, hard work, determination and unwavering belief that people are the foundation to the company’s success, today Northland is recognized as one of the most trusted names in hospitality, construction and property management.

Devoted to his faith, Bob is deeply involved with his local church, enjoys playing tennis or getting outside for a game of golf and spending time with family – being ‘Grandpa’ to 10 beloved grandchildren.

In 2025, Bob was honoured with a place in BC’s Restaurant Hall of Fame and 2026 he was also inducted into Business Laureates of BC Hall of Fame.
