Knowing hospitality his whole life, Tom’s passion for his family’s business began when he was 13 working as a busboy at the Sandman Inn Vancouver. Upon completing his studies at the University of British Columbia, he worked in several different areas of the company gaining important experience in virtually all facets of his family’s businesses.
A dynamic leader with a growth mindset coupled with nearly 40 years of hands-on experience in the leadership and expansion of Northland’s various hospitality, real estate, sports and entertainment brands, Tom sets the company’s strategic direction and promotes an environment across the company that encourages learning, new opportunities and personnel development along with a strong desire to be the best in hospitality.

Beth Horowitz is Former President & CEO, Amex Bank of Canada and Amex Canada, Inc.
Since leaving Amex, she has devoted her time to not-for-profit and corporate board service. Beth has served on the HSBC Bank Canada board since 2009 and was appointed to the board of Canada Jetlines in June, 2021. Prior corporate board service includes Aimia Inc. from 2012 to 2017 and People Corporation, from 2019 until the board-initiated sale to Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking in 2021.
Beth’s current not-for-profit boards include Director, SheEO; President, TSCC 1435 Condo Corp.; Trustee, Art Gallery of Ontario; Advisor, Women’s Venture Capital Fund; and Director, UNITY Charity.
In 2013, Beth was named one of the 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada, in the Corporate Board category. Beth received a B.A. degree in Medieval and Renaissance European History from Cornell University, and an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School
